This may be a repeat comment since the first disappeared. I wanted to thank you for today’s blog about John Niles in which you recount my late husband’s story about Niles and the photographer. I thought you’d like to know Niles’s comments after he raised his head: “Motion takes the audience, and you just took my audience.”
You might also be interested to know that the Niles biography is titled, “I Wonder as I Wander.”
Your comment disappeared because I teach in a high school and use the blog with students so I am obligated to approve comments before they can appear. Sorry for the confusion. I just want to say I enjoyed immensely W. D. Snodgrass’ class and I to this day use his dramatization of “The Waste Land” to help my students understand that poem. Thank you also for passing on what it was That Niles said after he raised his Head. That was probably part of the story, but I had forgotten it.
